v0.3.1 - Current Progress...
Hello again!
It's been more than two months since my previous post for Road Rage, and a lot of things have happened since that time. Given that much of my time is now occupied with either looking for a development job or sharpening my skills through various personal/practice projects, work on Road Rage sometimes falls by the wayside. Nevertheless, I'd like to use this update as a way to showcase some of the upcoming features that will be available in version 0.3.1.
Note: some of the features described in this post are still in development, so the present screenshots are not representative of the finished product.
Update Menu + Menu Controls
Additional menu's have been added that will allow you select one of several different levels (more on this later), whilst also providing additional menu controls with which you can switch between screens using the 'Space'- and 'Backspace'-keys without issue.
Player Animations
As a way to make the act of playing the game more visually interesting, animations have been added to the player's movement, with a slight rotation for the player's left/right-movement and the added effect of a 360°-spin when the player now hits an obstacle.
New Levels
Two new levels (City and Desert) have been added to the game, offering more varied and interesting environments. Separate from the now renamed Countryside-level, both of these environments have their own unique obstacles together with specific patterns you'll need to figure out if you wish to avoid them.
As far as current changes go, that's about it. At the moment, I'd say that the newest update is largely complete in terms of added content, with only a few minor changes related to the design (which I will discuss in a future post) still needing to be implemented. I hope this post has left you feeling excited on what's about to come next...
And as always, thanks for reading!
